I want to brew my own beer but I don't know where to start. I've seen home kits but which one is the best? Or maybe the better question is what do I need to brew my own beer?

I am going to make Bratwurst Chili, and was wondering which beer would make the chili taste really good. I'm going to use regular brats and include onions, bell peppers, Kidney beans, black beans, great northern beans, tomato sause, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, and crushed red pepper.
